The plot of the Big Score is quite clearly a mess, it starts like a CatIII, then moves to a comedy without any problem. There is nothing really new here, no originality, no great performances or technical qualities. But just as most of Wong Jing comedies, it's so totally silly that it's funny. There is also and mostly the possibility to see Danny Lee in a funny role. When we should expect another cop character, this time Danny has to play a gambler and a seducer, which is quite clearly what he is not... You imagine Chow Yun-Fat in the same character of course, but he would surely fit it too well. Danny is not the best actor, we know that, but it's great to see him having some fun, when usually he is very serious. The rest of the cast is quite nice (Joey Wong, Anthony Wong, Wong Jing...), the directing is quite average as usually but the jokes are quite funny, and the gambling and actions scenes are decent. This one should be considered by the Wong Jing or Danny Lee fans mainly, or more generally by those who likes typical cheap HK comedies.
